Welcome to Sort
Miss Csehi and Mrs Khan
Children might also mention teachers that they are working with in Read, Write, Inc.
We hope this year will be exciting for you and your children, we have lots of interesting things planned. On this page you will find a topic overview that covers the next four weeks of learning.
Additional to this will be PE on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has a full named kit, including jogging bottoms. We will also be doing RE, PSHE and storytelling in our English lessons.
Homework will be give throughout the week. Maths is set up online and your child will have brought home a username and new password. We encourage parents to take an active part in the and to make it a fun time. English homework will consist of weekly spellings to practice at home, a reading expectation of at least three times per week and a copy of the story being told within our story telling to be practised at home.
Parental Support Activities
Enjoy sharing story books with your child, singing songs and encouraging the children to count objects around the home and finding numbers in your environment. Your child is learning a version of The Three Little Pigs by heart. You can help by hearing them practise and joining in with the repetitive parts. Talk about maps and what they are used for. Maybe have a look at one of the local area and point out different places of interest. We will be sending out some maths activities that you can play with your child during the next couple of weeks.
We are trying to develop our outside learning area and would be grateful for any spare bits of decking you may have lying around. Also drainpipes, guttering and any old outside toys that you no longer require. Please come in and let us know.
We are trying really hard in Sort Class to develop independence skills. Please encourage your child to have a go at getting themselves dressed in the morning, including buttons and also to try put on their shoes for themselves.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT OUR DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN IF YOU HAVE ANY WORRIES OR CONCERNS.
