Sports report:

Last Tuesday, our Rugby Team travelled to Brannel for The Clay Country Touch Rugby Tournament. Our team played superbly in all games and the boys and girls were very well organised, working extremely hard for one another. Our defence in particular was very strong with players quick to the tackle resulting in winning numerous turnovers. When in possession of the ball , it was quickly passed out to our attacking players who ran in some excellent tries.

Out of the four games played, we won 3 and drew 1 scoring 12 and conceding just 2 tries in the process. This means that we have now qualified for the next stage of the competition.

Results:

St. Dennis 4 v 0 St. Stephen ( Sophie 2, Aidan B, Aaron )

St. Dennis 4 v 0 Nanpean ( Dan 2, Sophie, Aaron )

St. Dennis 2 v 0 Roche ( Aaron, Sophie )

Whitemoor 2 v 2 St. Dennis ( Aaron, Sophie )

On Wednesday, our Cricket Team made their way to Truro Cricket Centre for The Continous Cricket County Finals. After qualifying 2 weeks ago we joined the other 6 teams who had also progressed from the original 28 schools.

Our boys got off to a good start recording wins over Mount Charles and Trevithick with Joe, Blake and Joshua all registering good scores. The next 2 games saw defeats to Truro and then Charlestown. Joel and Joshua top scored in these games. Ludgvan were our next opponents and the team returned to winning ways with a  good performance.

Joe posted another good score and Travis was also amongst the runs. Noah took a great catch and kept wicket very well whilst our team were fielding.

The final match saw us face St. Hilary in which the winners would clinch the runners – up spot. A good fielding display restricted the opposition to a low score but some great catching from their fielders saw us fall just short of the target.

This result meant that the boys finished in an excellent 3rd place overall and they gratefully received their bronze medal awards.

The children were all impeccably behaved, displayed an excellent work rate and were respectful and sporting towards the opposition.
